Amanda Bossard was just out of high school when she started her marine biology studies at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard began her career as a seafood commercial worker in 1999. Bossard began working with the ship F/V Sunset an a65' halibut-schooner which was converted into a Salmon tender, in the name of Murat Aritan. She had been working in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard has married Aritan. They've united and claim their respective fields. They are both proponents conservation of sustainable, renewable marine resources. In 2007, she became a mother to two kids Bella age 3 as well as Andre 1 Bossard before returning to her home in Philadelphia established a direct wholesale distribution of seafood known as Otolith. Its name is an affectionate reference to her deep expertise in fish biology as well as her husband's lengthy involvement in the seafood industry often keeping them from each other for 5 months or longer when they are focused on their the environment and financial goals that reflect both their independence and dedication to the community in which they reside.
